About me

Who am I?

My name is Christine, I’m from Luxembourg and definitely caught the travel bug when I was 17 and boarded a flight for the first time in my life to spend 3 months as an exchange student in Canada.

I’m self-employed as a translator and thus am lucky to be able to simply pack my suitcase whenever I want, without having to ask a boss for permission, and also to work from abroad.

I have been to 44 countries so far and the country that I know best – apart from Luxembourg – is Mexico, where I frequently spend extended periods of time.

On this site, I intend to document my travels for myself and hopefully also inspire others to go out and explore a little bit of our beautiful small world.

What does “Kleng Welt” mean and what is this strange other language on the site?

“Kleng Welt” means “small world” in my native language, Luxembourgish, which is the other language this site is written in. Luxembourgish is the national language of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg and one of the 3 official languages of the country, together with French and German. It’s spoken by close to 400,000 people.

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page
